Founder

  • Toru Tokushige

    Founder, Terra Motors K.K.

    Toru Tokushige

    Born in 1970 in Yamaguchi,Japan, graduated from Kyushu University with a degree in Engineering.Started his career at Sumitomo Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., where he was involved in product planning and corporate management.
    After leaving the company, Gained MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in the U.S., moved to Silicon Valley to invest in and provide hands-on support to core technology ventures.
    In 2010, he founded Terra Motors Corp. in EV sectors that quickly became the market leader in the electric three-wheeler sector in India. In 2016, to make a new economic space in the sky with innovative technology, he established Terra Drone Corp., which was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in 2024.
    In 2022, he launched Terra Charge, an EV charging infrastructure business in Japan. He continues to take on the challenge of building new infrastructure and creating businesses that can succeed on the world stage.

    Masanori Takahashi

    Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Shibaura Institute of Technology. While at university, he became obsessed with the sky and was in charge of designing the electrical systems of human-powered aeroplanes. Joined Honda Motor Co. He was assigned to the front line of production, where he learnt about Japanese monozukuri first-hand. In 2014, he joined Terra Motors, where he was responsible for the development of batteries and chargers for electric tricycles, starting with on-site research. In India, he was in charge of managing the company's own electric tricycles and factory start-up, development, quality assurance, production and after-sales service. In 2018, he was appointed CTO (Chief Technology Officer), and in October 2019, he was appointed to the board of directors at the company's headquarters.

    Ichiro Ishii

    Graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Engineering and joined Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance in 1978, and began his involvement in overseas insurance business in 1985 when he joined TMM in the US. In 2008, he was appointed General Manager of Tokio Marine Holdings' International Business Planning Department and established a new organisation to strengthen the IT and HR functions of the international insurance business. ); appointed Vice President of Tokio Marine Holdings in 2017; left the Tokio Marine Group in 2020 to become an advisor to Deloitte Tohmatsu LLC.

    Yukio Yoda

    Graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Law, and joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1973. After being seconded to the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), he worked as Counsellor for Commerce and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Canada before becoming Director General of JETRO San Francisco in 1979. In 2002 he joined Kyocera Corporation, where he was in charge of venture company investment, M&A, etc. He analysed business plans, income and expenditure forecasts, etc. for new projects, evaluated top management's ability to handle business, etc. for investment decisions, and participated in the establishment of the Group's corporate governance and compliance organisation and systems to comply with the SOX Act. Established Task Yoda in 2007. In 2011, he became an advisor and executive officer of SOLE Co.
